Let’s fix it together! From books to action

Celebrating World Environment Day 2025 with books that inspire change!

Every year on June 5th, World Environment Day reminds us to pause, reflect, and act for our planet. Since 1972, this global event, created by the United Nations, has ignited change in millions.

This year’s theme says it loud and clear: “Plastic pollution is a problem we can fix.” Plastic waste is everywhere: in our oceans, soil, and even the air we breathe. It’s a massive challenge, but we can overcome it.

Good news is that we have the power to change things. By rethinking how we use plastic, embracing sustainable choices, and teaching the next generation to care for the Earth, we can all be part of the solution. Equipping kids with the knowledge to understand global environmental challenges, the confidence to address them, and the empowerment to act.

At Combel we firmly believe that environmental care is cultivated through curiosity and empathy. Our EcoSphere imprint is dedicated to producing books that educate children about our planet’s critical issues and show them how they can help, one small step at a time.

Recommended reading to help us fix it:

The Leap of the Frog by Teresa Franquesa, illustrated by Pau Gasol. A clear, engaging introduction to climate change. It explains the science, shows the effects—and empowers kids with practical ideas to become part of the solution.

What Do We Feed by Patricia Geis. A playful interactive look at how reducing food waste helps the Earth—packed with practical tips for eating well and wasting less.

A Walk Around the Planet by Martí Salomó: A puzzle board book for little that introduces sustainability and invites children to piece together a greener world.

This is how we’re doing our bit at Combel. How about you? What will you do to help fix it—together?
