Josep Maria Folch i Torres

Novelist, narrator and playwright. His extensive production, dedicated especially to children and teenagers, became exceptionally popular.
From 1909 he ran the weekly En Patufet, where he published the Pàgines viscudes until 1938.
After Les Aventures extraordinàries d’en Massagran (1910) was published, he wrote two or three novels a year for “Biblioteca Patufet”. He was the creator of Catalan theatre for children.
His overwhelming success came mainly with Els pastorets (1916), the most produced Catalan theatre production of all time, and with Ventafocs (1920).
